General Meeting for SMP on Monday, November 12th, at 5:30 PM location TBA.
Campus crops and a mini general meeting are taking place at 6:30 and 6 respectively on the 7th of November in MUGS, but if you miss that, be sure to come on Monday to catch up and get in the game.
Following a suggestion at the last Rethink conference in March 2007, a professor in the School of Environment, Prof. Garry Peterson, undertook the challenge of creating a sustainability "Report Card" to facilitate tracking the university's progress towards sustainability through time and help situate McGill's performance in comparison to peer institution.
Our team of six students (Kyle Bailey, Kat Butler, Lynne Champoux-Williams, Dustin Dahle, Alexandre Poisson and Evan Sonnenberg) has now undertaken this task in the context of a class in the environment program, ENVR 401. The outcome of our work should highlight areas where McGill has made important progress in recent years, and also help identify areas in need of improvement, thus providing useful information for McGill decision-makers. We are now in the process of drafting a report card framework and collecting data to create a preliminary evaluation.
We are currently developing a website for general consultation, but in the interim, please feel free to send any ideas and comments to
